I forgot to mention: you will need to raise your Con enough to be able to equip shields in the first place. but it only costs 1 AP if you really want something close to you to die right now. It's boring to spam Decaying Touch and expensive if you do it with scrolls and it's close range. Scrolls: As you level, merchants will sell Decaying Touch scrolls for pretty cheap. Reactive Armor can be nice for the AoE, too, if you stack physical protection. You can either destroy phys armor before you use them, or help any mages by destroying magic armor. Geo 2: Impalement & Earthquake do magic damage, BUT they have status effects that target physical armor. Hydro 3: You only need 1 for Blood Rain, or 3 if you want to use Blood Storm. I wouldn't worry too much about Scoundrel or crit in the beginning of the game though. Adrenaline can be useful, and that one teleport, if you want movement. Scoundrel 10: For more movement and crit multiplier. Also, since I use a shield, I pick up Bouncing Shield for great damage that scales only off your shield.

Poly 3: Skin Graft for cooldown resets, Chameleon Cloak for invisibility, Wings for mobility. More Necro doesn't affect damage, just self-healing.

You should dip into each tree as you level depending on what you need, and what you want. Skills: Necro 3, Poly 3, max Warfare, max Scoundrel, Hydro 1-3 and Geo 2 to your taste. Talents: Elemental Affinity (blood counts as necro surface), Far Out Man, Hothead, Savage Sortelige (magic crits), whatever else you want. Race: Elf is nice because of their Blood Sacrifice racial. Stats: A few points in Con to equip shields. It's not theorycrafted 100% OP build, and you should experiment to fit your playstyle. In either build it makes sense to dump some points into poly to increase attributes and for the great skills. This is the funnest build I have played yet with many interesting combos. Maybe it will level out later in the game but by then I hope to see what savage sortilege can do. Some have said that necro is a good support skill only, and I beg to differ. Use shield and shield-based warfare skills for some extra physical damage and buffs geo has some good physical/acid skills and plenty physical CC. Hydro increases healing from life steal and the living armor talent pairs well with this, allowing you to focus your gear on physical armor. With max int and warfare the necro damage skills are more powerful than any other in my party. Learn just enough necro to use the skills, but memorize nearly all of them. In another I am playing a blood mage - focusing int/warfare with geo and hydro. The build is fun and almost unkillable when played correctly. In one campaign I am playing a lone wolf 2h death knight - focusing str/warfare and taking necro for life steal and all of the utility skills.
